I’m Ranjith Gunarathne, your English teacher.
I began my teaching career as a government school English teacher in 1983. I received my training at the Government English Specialist Teachers’ College in Peradeniya.
Since 2019, I’ve been conducting online English classes for learners of all ages and backgrounds—not just school students, but also working professionals, housewives, job seekers, and university students.
My students come from all across Sri Lanka—and even beyond— including Sri Lankan expats and overseas learners in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, France, Japan, Finland, and several Middle Eastern countries.
In addition to teaching, I’ve held senior management roles in the private corporate sector for over 10 years in multiple countries. This experience helps me better understand the practical language and communication needs of today’s learners.
In all my classes, I also teach essential IT skills that are immensely valuable for both office work and higher education.
All my students receive lifetime Microsoft Office 365 licenses and Canva Pro access, completely free of charge.
I also provide Soft Skills training to corporate employees, helping them improve workplace communication, confidence, and professionalism.
To support your learning, I maintain a large digital library with books (PDF and EPUB), movies, TV shows, podcasts, and more. These resources are freely available to all my students to help improve both English and IT skills.

Yes, we do. We offer English conversation classes. In addition to listening and speaking skills necessary for conversational English , we teach basic reading and writing skills as well.
That depends on your goals and learning stamina. Typically, we conduct 2-hour sessions, but this can be adjusted to suit your needs.
That varies based on your availability and urgency. Most learners attend one session per week, but we’re flexible.
Yes—and no! While you can attend via a mobile phone, to get the full learning experience, we recommend using a computer or laptop.
No, we use Microsoft Office 365 / Teams for all classes. Every student receives a genuine Microsoft 365 A1 license, which includes 25+ apps and 100 GB of Azure cloud storage—free of charge.
Absolutely! We provide free IT training to all our learners. We also offer remote support to help you install software and set up your computer.
Yes, you can join from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. We already have students from Australia, France, Japan, New Zealand, the Middle East, and the Maldives.
Yes, we do! Group classes are available if you organize your own group.
You can pay via weekly bank transfer or direct deposit. We accept payments through Sampath Bank and Bank of Ceylon.
Fees start from as low as LKR 1,500 per hour, depending on how much offline support is needed.

My daughter who is in Grade 7 studies English at Respect Academy. She is studying in English medium at school and she really likes her class at Respect Academy. They are doing Cambridge Movers now. She did not like the idea of online classes at first but now she loves the experience.
